What Is Kybella?

Kybella is a prescription medicine that helps adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to submental fat (severe fat below the chin), more commonly known as a “double chin.” The active ingredient in Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps breakdown and absorb dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once they’re gone, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal. At Lantry Aesthetic & Skincare Center, we will review your needs during a consultation and offer this treatment if it will benefit you in achieving your beauty goals.

Is Kybella Right For Me?

Kybella can be a very effective treatment if you:

  • Are unhappy and self-conscious of the fat under the chin, also known as submental fullness and/or a double chin.
  • Feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are.
  • Don’t want to have surgery.
  • Eat well and exercise, but submental fullness does not go away.

But as always, the best first step is to book a consultation with us to evaluate your needs and to make sure that this treatment is best for you. You can schedule a consultation by filling out a form here.
